People & Lifestyle

La Jolla is one of California’s most picturesque seaside towns, making it a major tourist destination. However, it’s also a living community with a population that spans demographics, from the affluence of the neighborhoods closest to the Pacific Ocean shoreline to more middle-class areas further inland. Home to some of San Diego’s best restaurants and upscale shopping streets, La Jolla is a community like no other.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Perched atop dramatic seaside bluffs and surrounded by the ocean on three sides, the gorgeous La Jolla Village has boutiques and pavement cafes in an unbeatable setting. Prospect Street’s high-end retailers include Cartier and Ralph Lauren, earning it a reputation as the Rodeo Drive of San Diego, while Girard Street features chic boutiques such as Francesca’s.

George’s is one of the finest restaurants in San Diego, with delectable contemporary Californian coastal cuisine, exceptional cocktails, and magnificent ocean views. Boutique retailers and outstanding restaurants can also be found at the beautiful European-style La Plaza La Jolla. Here you can enjoy incredible rooftop views while dining on delicious Italian food at Catania.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood and Marine Room both offer exquisite fine dining experiences, specializing in the freshest seafood paired with delicious wines. The Cottages and Sugar and Scribe Bakery are favorite breakfast and brunch destinations, serving up the best coffees and pastries every day of the week.
